How to Sell at Auction
If you wish to enter items into the auction and are able to transport them yourself all you have to do is contact the office to agree a delivery time. We generally accept items for auction on Thursdays and Fridays following a sale, between 10am and 4pm but please call first as we fill up very quickly. Otherwise, we offer a collection service within the surrounding area for a small charge. To arrange this, you can contact us on 057 8626290.
The lengthy cataloguing process means that we will stop taking in items for an auction on a certain date. However, if you arrive after that date we are more than happy to hold the items until the next auction, if we have storage space left. This does not incur a fee.
Your items will be taken in and you will be given a receipt to sign as proof of delivery. If an item is of a higher value, you may be allowed to place a reserve on it at the auctioneer’s discretion. The reserve price is the minimum price for your item. However, the auctioneer has a 10% discretion on the reserve price.
Before the auction date you will receive a pre-sale notification noting your lots, details, reserves (if applicable) and estimates (if applicable).
Sold!
After the auction, you will receive an after-sales notification, listing the prices at which your items sold.
Auction fees are as follows: The minimum fee per lot sold is €10. All lots sold are subject to commission of 20% on the hammer price. This includes VAT & Photography (as all of our sales are live on the internet to maximise the price we receive for your lots, all lots are photographed).
Payment
Ordinarily, the payment for all sold lots will be made within 28 days* by cheque which will be posted to your address. This cheque will reflect sold prices less our selling charges. If your items have been paid for, it may be possible to have your payment issued early - just ask !
*provided that all lots have been paid for by the buyer
Unsold
If one or more of your items failed to sell you may have to drop the reserve/ take the item/s away or permit us to sell the lot with the proceeds going to charity. You will be contacted by a member of staff to determine this.
